Coaching with Kate Noble

As a coach, I support people drawn to living in “widening circles.”

To me, living in widening circles means widening your perspective and widening your capacities to:

  • Experience greater meaning day-to-day

  • Sit with and digest difficult emotions

  • Feel pleasant emotions

  • Fully access inner resources

I help people of all ages who are feeling called to make a change in their life or who are already making a transition. I blend strategy with mind-body practices, intuition, skill development, and research-based methods to help my clients:

  • Create conditions where new stepping stones come into focus

  • Take the first steps

  • Navigate chosen and/or unfolding paths

  • Feel more alive, content, and connected to themselves, friends, family, and colleagues

My path

My path to wellness started with a mystery illness that stretched on for nearly one year. Gazing desperately into the eyes of loved ones, I felt nobody could meet me with the bravery and compassion I longed for. I couldn’t meet myself with bravery or compassion either. Managing my pain was a challenge, but most consuming were my fears of my unpredictable, painful body and death. What started with a 3-month anti-inflammatory diet has become an ongoing journey of unraveling the beliefs and behaviors that had caused my body to turn on me.

I have come to understand that one of the likely contributors to my sickness was my disconnect from emotion. For many good reasons, I had taught myself to push away my own and others’ emotions––and I created life conditions where not experiencing emotion was easy to do. I subconsciously numbed any feelings of sadness, fear, longing––even joy––with over-working, drinking too much, and leading a high intensity lifestyle where every hour was packed with activity. I felt disconnected from friends and family. Later I came to realize I was also disconnected from myself.

Getting in touch with my emotions has changed my life. Some of the keys to unlocking my guarded heart, my capacity to feel deeply, and a friendship with myself were Tantra yoga, somatic therapy, breathwork, mindfulness, and coaching. Now I feel content most days. I’m more present to myself, friends, family, colleagues, clients, and my work. I experience greater meaning in my day-to-day. I more readily see beauty in both joy and grief. All of this is what living in "widening circles" means to me. And I feel called to share my story, insights, and skills with people who can relate to my journey.

My approach to coaching

As a coach, I support people drawn to living in “widening circles.”  To me, living in widening circles means widening your perspective and widening your capacities to:

  • Experience greater meaning in the day-to-day

  • Sit with then move through difficult emotions

  • Feel pleasant emotions

  • Fully access inner resources

My favorite thing about coaching is helping people conjure up their own unconventional yet grounded intentions (or goals) and pathways. I blend strategy, mind-body practices, intuition, capacity development, and research-based methods to help my clients uncover new directions and their first steps. I ask thoughtful questions and listen closely for what’s underneath the surface, what’s valued, and where there's not alignment between values and actions.

My questions help my clients expand their perspective and connect to their inner longing, sense of purpose, and deep inspirations. When ready, my clients create conditions where new stepping stones come into focus. I encourage them to take a first step, and am supportive as they navigate the paths they have chosen alongside the paths that have chosen them.

I’m relatable, authentic, empathic, direct, and genuinely curious about life and people. I've been told I offer a unique blend of playfulness and seriousness. You will quickly notice that I am dedicated to understanding you, your dreams, and how to best support you.

My bio

I hold a Master of Public Policy from UMN's Humphrey School of Public Affairs where I concentrated on the practices and theories of leadership, program evaluation, and community and economic development. My Bachelor’s Degree is in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound in Washington. I have a yoga teacher certification through a Tantra yoga and shamanism school in Ecuador, and will soon be an Associate Certified Coach trained through the Mindfulness Coaching School.

In addition to being a coach, I'm an organizational and social change consultant. I support leaders to expand the good within themselves and their communities by serving as their strategic partner, developmental evaluator, coach, and facilitator. I have helped over 50 mission-driven organizations identify and make progress on the challenges and opportunities that come with creating change. My consulting clients are dedicated to advancing social, environmental, and economic justice within the fields of convening and cross-sector collaboration, wellbeing and health equity, regenerative agriculture, climate change, the arts, community development, and immigration reform.

I am fascinated and motivated by the relationship between social change and personal transformation. I notice that many aspiring changemakers are so focused on creating change and that they lose sight of being the change. I am passionate about helping my clients develop awareness and other tools for experiencing the profound connection between inner wellbeing, organizational change, and a more just and abundant world.
